RULES OF THE PMU CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

CHAMPIONSHIP VENUE:
Village Hotel Watford (Centennial Park, Centennial Ave, Elstree, Borehamwood WD6 3SL, UK)

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS:
- Only adults may participate.
- Entry requires the purchase of participation in one or more selected categories available at www.shineconference.uk.
- Each participant may compete in a maximum of 3 categories.
- Spaces in each category are limited; registration is open until each category reaches capacity.
- The organizer does not verify the skill level or work experience of participants.
- By purchasing a ticket, participants accept the event rules.
- Ticket prices will change over time: early bird prices are available until January 31, 2025, after which prices will increase.
- Registration closes when capacity is reached, or by February 28, 2025, at the latest.
- Incorrect category registration leads to automatic disqualification without a refund.
- No refunds will be issued for participants who withdraw.
- The event schedule will be announced after ticket sales close.
CATEGORIES:
- POWDER BROWS – Shaded brows with any machine technique (powder, ombre), 2.5 hours for procedure, plus 15 minutes for setup and cleanup.
- LIPS – Lip treatment with any machine technique, 2.5 hours, plus setup and cleanup time.
- SHADED EYELINER – Shaded eyeliner using a machine, 2.5 hours, plus setup and cleanup time.
- CLASSIC EYELINER – Eyeliner using a machine, 2.5 hours, plus setup and cleanup time.
- HAIRSTROKE – Hair stroke brows with any machine technique, 2.5 hours, plus setup and cleanup time.
- MICROBLADING – Manual hair stroke brows, 1.5 hours, plus setup and cleanup time.
- Seventh Category – To be announced based on survey results.
Each category will proceed only if at least 5 participants register. Otherwise, participants may switch to another category or receive a refund.
EVENT RULES:
- The organizer will provide participants with a workstation: treatment bed, stool, lamp, and side table.
- The organizer does not supply machines, needles, cartridges, pigments, or hygiene materials.
- Participants must wear white clothing.
- Each participant must bring an adult model without health contraindications to permanent makeup.
- Models must not have previous permanent makeup in the treatment area and must arrive without makeup.
- Participants are responsible for informing models about treatment implications and contraindications.
- Both participants and models must present ID and sign a consent form for image use upon registration.
- Models will receive individual numbers upon entry.
- Models should wear white, including a mandatory white disposable cap and gown.
- Participants must wear a disposable surgical gown, cap, gloves, mask, and have their hair tied back. Heavy jewelry is prohibited.
- Workstations must be safely prepared and meet hygiene standards.
- Only disposable materials should be used; machines and other equipment should be appropriately covered.
- Phones are not allowed in the competition area.
- Our photographer will take technical photos of models before and after procedures.
- Work begins after the organizer’s start signal.
- Participants and models may not leave the competition area without permission; violation leads to disqualification.
- Participants must immediately stop treatment when time is up.
- Models will be escorted to a separate room for judging by the General Jury.
- There is no hygiene jury; only the General Jury will evaluate the final treatment result. Each participant is responsible for maintaining hygiene.
- An organizer representative will be present to assist but may disqualify participants for serious hygiene or safety violations.
- During judging, models must not reveal participant identities.
- Participants may not publish images of models or treatments until results are announced.
- The event will follow the championship schedule.
- The organizer oversees the proper conduct of the championship but does not control the quality or brand of pigments and equipment.
JURY EVALUATION:
- The jury, appointed by the organizer, will consist solely of experienced permanent makeup artists.
- The jury will only see the models after the competition ends, reviewing before-and-after photos.
- The jury will select the top three works in each category: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. No scoring cards will be used.
- Jury deliberations are confidential. All works will be posted on the event’s Instagram page: shine.conference.uk.
- Participants agree that jury decisions are fair, objective, and final.
RESULTS AND PRIZES:
- The results and prizes will be announced at the Gala on April 5, 2025.
- The top three entries in each category will receive prizes.
- Prizes from sponsors and organizers cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
FINAL PROVISIONS:
- Participants cover their own travel, accommodation, and treatment costs.
- The organizer is not responsible for lost or stolen items during the event.
- The organizer holds no responsibility for late arrivals, participants’ ability to perform permanent makeup, or models’ availability.
- Participants consent to video and photo recording and waive rights to these materials.
- Participants grant the organizer unrestricted rights to use their image for promotional purposes.
- The organizer may use photos and videos from the event for promotional or editorial purposes.
- Participants waive any claims, including existing and future compensation, regarding image use.
- Registration implies acceptance of these terms, the conditions of participation, and consent to data processing as per the registration form.
- The organizer is the data controller.
- Matters not covered in these rules will follow the Civil Code.

- The organizer reserves the right to reschedule, relocate, or cancel the event due to force majeure without bearing costs.
- The organizer is not liable for non-performance caused by force majeure, including natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, pandemic developments, or third-party actions.
